New York Expands Funding for Home Efficiency Projects
Updated: Dec 30, 2020
Don't Miss this Home Improvement Game-Changer, Orange County!
Now through June 30, 2021 the award amounts and income limits to access funds for a home energy efficiency upgrade have been dramatically raised. This change means a large majority of Orange County homeowners can now qualify for the Assisted Home Performance program and receive up to $5,000 per single family home ($10,000 for a 2 to 4-unit home) to complete energy efficiency upgrades.
Each year, New York State homeowners waste hundreds of dollars in energy. But efficiency improvements offer proven solutions in the face of high energy bills. The Assisted Home Performance program, offering a 50% discount on projects installed by certified contractors, makes it easy and affordable to lower your energy bills and live more comfortably all year long. And now, in response to COVID, the New York Energy Research and Development Authority has lifted the income restrictions, qualifying a significantly larger pool of homeowners.
The Assisted Home Performance experience starts with a free home energy assessment conducted by a trained and experienced contractor. The assessment provides a comprehensive look at where your home is wasting energy. You will learn the root cause of any drafts, inconsistent temperatures, heating and cooling system failures, or other problems you may be experiencing. Choose your recommended upgrades, get 50% off the total (up to $5,000 or $10,000) and enjoy better comfort and energy savings. Good for you, your neighbors and the planet.
